~THE HOMECOMING~

--

ANISHIJIKA was the imaginary name consists of the first letter of my father’s name & first two letters of my sister, wife and my own names being given to our home which was thought to be inscribed on the entrance gate but it hasn’t ever been done yet because two from among us have been disappeared from the scene so early. I myself only remember the event when all of us together was talking about that…

Dearest ever ANISHIJIKA,
It’s been another set of 365 days…
The Cold Grey Floor of ‘Rahima Monjil’,
Our home, sweet home
Sheltered my Father, Md. Altaf Hossain
and my best-half, Monera Parvez Nur Jimi ,
Just only for a while in darkness
On the eve of their
Forever leaving us behind
Where once we would considerably share
Our love for each other,
anticipate harmonious dreams
To come true together
To live happily ever-after
With tears & laughter
In all seasons…
With all kinships near & farther
At last turned into
A framed photograph…
But nothing else
So surely proved & fixed
If ever we could reunite ourselves,
Once again in a happy groupie
The five of us together again,
Or anyway…
Only the impossible wish remains
Down on the Cold Grey Floor of ‘Rahima Monjil’
Although unbelievably
Passed away another set of 365 days
The stress of tried socialization
With aching spine
Is being carried forward
By the hardest integrity
Vanished in bright remembrance
Of those dearest faces…
I’m just terribly afraid
Of forgetting forever… .. .
